NSW Labor MP Charishma Kaliyanda has accused Liverpool City Council mayor Ned Mannoun of doxxing her. The MP alleged Mannoun published her home address on social media in a post that was later deleted.
The Indian-born MP for Liverpool said the post appeared on Thursday night and was shared into multiple Facebook groups by Liberal councillor and candidate Richard Ammoun.
Dangerous Behaviour Crosses A Line: Labor MP
“I am aware that the Mayor published a social media post last night that publicised my home address,” Kaliyanda wrote on Facebook. “Having my home address published by a political opponent is completely unacceptable. This is not just a political tactic, it is doxxing and potential criminal conduct.”
The disclosure, she said, “puts my safety and the safety of those around me, at serious risk.” Kaliyanda pointed to recent threats against MPs, including stalking and intimidation cases. “We have seen far too many high-profile cases where MPs, including Opposition Leader Kellie Sloane, have been stalked, threatened, and intimidated.”
“No one should feel unsafe in their own home because of their work in public service. This behaviour crosses a clear line: it is dangerous, unacceptable and unworthy of public office,” the MP added.
Charishma Kaliyanda Is First Indian-Born Liverpool MP

Kaliyanda, elected to state parliament in 2023 as the first Indian-born Australian MP for the seat, previously served as a Liverpool councillor. The electorate, one of Sydney’s most diverse, has been a flashpoint for tensions between state Labor and the Liberal-led council.
The latest incident comes ahead of a council seat by election following the resignation of deputy mayor Betty Green in January.
Mayor Mannoun, re-elected in 2024, has not publicly responded in detail or offered any apology to the MP. “I’m sorry that a publicly available document was published,” Mannoun said.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported that the original social media post included an unredacted NSW Electoral Commission form showing her address, which was edited out after complaints.
Kaliyanda has hinted that she is considering further action. “There is no excuse for this behaviour, and it must be called out for what it is,” the MP said.
